Following a career in the fashion industry, and awakening to the negative impacts on life in the name of profits, I tapped into my financial training and experience managing holding companies to design and build an investment model in alignment with the shared vision with Christopher Lindstrom. Cycleffect Regenerative Ventures is the outcome of the intention to create a container of collaboration, reciprocity and investment in regenerative companies.
Being an operator for over a decade, I jumped into supporting entrepreneurs from within, fractionally in finance, strategy and ops - and continue this work today.
Recognizing that innovative investment structures tend to be perceived as higher risk, I then built an investment thesis for regenerative agriculture that could meet a traditional fund model to facilitate capital flow as co-founding Managing Director at Trailhead Capital.
Seeking the catalyst for regenerative agriculture I found food quality and the Bionutrient Food Association. Believing that if food quality were transparent to consumers then the market would adjust to reward growers for quality vs quantity, and given the linkage between quality crops and quality soil, the modus operandi would shift. I continue to serve on the Board of the Bionutrient Food Association and an ally and informal advisor to Edacious.
I started to look beyond agriculture and soil impact to NATURE. It astonished me how much of our economy depends on nature and yet it is generally unvalued in business. True cost accounting, TNFD, and valuing resilience in the cost of capital were the call to my work at NatureX Venture Studio We're now assessing corporate value at risk relating to upstream nitrogen loading in the Mississippi watershed through the NatureX Foundation's grant.
Looking beyond stewarding capital into positive impact in our current economic model I question how we are doing. Are we thriving? Could we be?
How have we come to accept a society in which conditions of chronic disease have become the norm, and mental wellbeing is consistenly deteriorating?
I know we can do better, and aim to bring forth this opportunity in my next endeavor.
My evolving thesis:
Could research and investment support development and evolution of wellcare to bring our society into a state of thriving?
Research areas could include: frequency health, accessibility to holistic healing, alternative models to health insurance, economic ecosystem development to foster alternative energetic exchange of value, and more!
Let's explore this together!
